Chase Sapphire Reserve holders who spend most to get Hyatt Explorist tier in 2026
A broader Hyatt–Chase tie-up will grant World of Hyatt Explorist status to heavy spenders on two Sapphire Reserve cards and signals further Hyatt cards ahead.
On November 5, 2025, Hyatt said it is expanding its partnership with Chase. Beginning in mid-2026, cardmembers who spend the most on the Chase Sapphire Reserve, along with those holding the Sapphire Reserve for Business, will be given World of Hyatt Explorist status.
Hyatt added that it intends to bring additional cards into its credit card lineup, though the announcement offers no specifics, amounts or schedule for them. The company said it will collect $47 million in pre-tax cash at the outset, during the final three months of 2025, and will book that income gradually across the term of the deal.
Hyatt's announcement also summarized its current World of Hyatt Credit Card and Business Card. Both earn as much as 9 points for each $1 spent at Hyatt properties, 2 points per $1 at gyms and fitness clubs, and 1 point per $1 on all other purchases, and both include Discoverist status at no extra charge. The personal version also pays 2 points per $1 on local transit, commuting, dining, and flights purchased straight from airlines. It includes one free night every year at a hotel in Categories 1 through 4, with a further free night once $15,000 is spent within a calendar year.
The business version pays 2 points per $1 in the three categories where spending is highest each quarter, and it supplies Hyatt credits worth up to $100 every cardmember anniversary year. According to Hyatt, spending on its cards rose by over 30% across two years, while the number of cardmembers climbed by more than 25% in the same period.
