U.S. Bank plans Prime Business and Amazon Business Mastercards paying 5% and 3%
Neither Mastercard business card has an annual fee, and both will take the place of Amazon's American Express business cards.
U.S. Bank has unveiled two small-business credit cards aimed at Amazon shoppers: the Prime Business Card and the Amazon Business Card. Both run on the Mastercard network, and neither carries an annual fee.
Business owners with a Prime membership get a 5% rebate on Amazon spending with the Prime Business Card, while owners without Prime get 3% on Amazon spending with the Amazon Business Card. According to the announcement, both products also reward spending away from Amazon at higher rates, though no figures were given for those purchases. A footnote puts the rate at 1% for the remaining categories once net purchases total $150,000 in a year.
The cards were described as arriving in spring 2026, with more detail on benefits to follow in the months after the announcement. U.S. Bank mentioned "flexible credit terms" but listed no APRs, credit limits or eligibility rules, and no exact launch date was given. A link in the release lets interested businesses sign up for notification.
People who hold the U.S. Amazon Business or Amazon Business Prime American Express cards can continue using them and collecting rewards. American Express and U.S. Bank said those customers will receive separate messages about the transition, and the release directs readers to an FAQ. No date for the transition was stated.
