Delta and American Express upgrade SkyMiles Gold, Platinum and Reserve perks

Gold cards gain a $120 yearly rideshare benefit, Platinum and Reserve get companion certificates, and annual fees stay the same, the two companies said.

Delta Air Lines and American Express announced new perks on June 4, 2026 for the Delta SkyMiles Gold, Platinum and Reserve cards. The companies said annual fees will not go up. The announcement gives no fee amounts.

Beginning June 4, 2026, personal and business versions of the three cards include an additional checked bag at no charge on Delta-operated domestic routes. Enrolled Gold and Gold Business members also gain a $120 yearly rideshare benefit, paid out as up to $10 per month for qualifying rides in the U.S. booked through chosen providers. That benefit and the companion certificates start after a card renews.

Platinum holders get one companion certificate each year for a round trip in Delta Main to domestic, Caribbean or Central American destinations. Reserve holders get one yearly for a round trip in Delta First, Delta Premium Select, Delta Comfort or Delta Main to the same regions. A certificate can be applied to the airfare part of a Delta Vacations package. Taxes and fees range from $22 to $250, and Delta Basic fares do not qualify.

Welcome offers changed as well. Gold pays 70,000 miles after $3,000 in spending within six months, with 20,000 more after another $2,000. Platinum pays 80,000 miles after $4,000, then 20,000 after another $2,000. Reserve pays 100,000 miles after $6,000, then 25,000 after another $3,000. The business cards pay 90,000 (Gold), 100,000 (Platinum) and 125,000 (Reserve) miles after $6,000, $8,000 and $15,000 in spending. Approval must come by July 15, 2026. The cards also got new looks, including a Slate Grey option on the Reserve cards.
