Chase updates Sapphire Preferred with new rewards and benefits at the same $95 fee

From June 15, 2026, the card adds 3x on gas and EV charging and doubles its hotel credit to $100, and the World of Hyatt transfer rate becomes 4:3.

Chase unveiled changes to the Chase Sapphire Preferred card on June 15, 2026. The $95 annual fee is the same as before. The new features start that day for both new and current cardmembers, and nobody needs to sign up, except to activate the Apple TV offer.

Two categories now earn 3x points: gas and EV charging, and vacation homes booked directly with brands such as Airbnb and Vrbo. Earning rates already in place are unchanged: 5x through Chase Travel, 3x on dining, streaming and online groceries, 2x on other travel, and 1x on all remaining purchases. The yearly hotel credit for stays booked through Chase Travel goes from $50 to $100. Among the added benefits, cardmembers can receive up to $120 once every four years toward the application fee for Global Entry, TSA PreCheck or NEXUS. The card also carries emergency evacuation and transportation coverage worth up to $100,000, plus a year of Apple TV for those who activate it by December 31, 2026.

Chase also revised how points move from Ultimate Rewards to World of Hyatt. The ratio is now 4:3, meaning 1,000 points convert to 750. New Sapphire Preferred applicants get this rate right away, while current cardmembers and Ink Business Preferred holders see it from October 1, 2026. Separately, the 10% Anniversary Bonus is gone for anyone who applies on or after June 15, 2026. People who applied before that date continue to receive it until October 1, 2026.

For new cardmembers, the sign-up offer is 100,000 points after $5,000 of spending within the first three months.
