Bilt changes Bilt Cash expiry, hotel redemptions and annual card credits for 2027
Bilt Cash now lapses after 12 months, hotel use moves to twice a year, and Palladium and Obsidian credits convert to Bilt Cash.
Bilt has changed how long Bilt Cash lasts. The old year-end deadline is replaced: each amount now lapses on the last day of the month, 12 months after you received it. In Bilt's example, $100 from February 2026 lapses on February 28, 2027. Collecting it stays at $50 for each 25,000 points.
Spending Bilt Cash on hotels shifts from monthly to two times a year starting 1/1/27. Each use is capped at $50 with Blue or Silver status, $100 with Gold or Platinum status and $200 for eligible Palladium cardholders, which works out to $100, $200 and $400 a year.
Under the 2027 program, each Bilt Card moves to a new benefit set on its account anniversary. Housing payments earn as much as 1.25X points, and earning rates on day-to-day purchases stay as they are. Flexible Bilt Cash mode, with its 4% return on everyday purchases paid as Bilt Cash, goes away. You can decline the move in card settings ahead of your anniversary, which keeps that mode and eligible annual credits, but you then cannot swap between it and Housing-only mode.
Two cards see their yearly credits change. Palladium's $400 hotel credit and $200 Bilt Cash credit merge into one $600 annual amount of Bilt Cash, and Obsidian trades its $100 hotel credit for $100 in Bilt Cash. These land on the account anniversary instead of January 1 and can go toward hotels or other redemptions. Separately, a Daily Rewards program starts 1/15/27, with on-time rent or mortgage payments among the ways to qualify.
