Two Citi AAdvantage cards go to $150 a year on January 24, 2027, with added perks

Both cards rise from $99 and gain bonus-mile categories, along with money back on in-flight purchases and on airport screening programs.

American Airlines and Citi are changing two co-branded Mastercards, the Citi / AAdvantage Platinum Select and the Citi / AAdvantage Business. The yearly charge on each climbs from $99 to $150 on January 24, 2027, and people who already hold one gain the additions that same day. A newly opened account owes no fee for its first 12 months. The announcement does not say when a current holder first pays the higher amount.

On the Platinum Select, hotels and rental cars reserved through American's AAdvantage booking sites bring 3X miles. A 2X rate covers gas stations, where EV charging now counts too, along with certain streaming services and spending in a category labeled Rides and Rails. Holders who charge $20,000 or more in a cardmembership year and then renew see their flight discount on American grow from $125 to $150. The primary cardmember also receives Walmart+ at no cost, which the announcement values at $98, and can take 50% off a yearly FOX One plan.

The Business card pays the same 3X on those hotel and car bookings. Its holder also picks one 2X category out of three: U.S. advertising, U.S. shipping or office supply stores. The card takes 25% off the price of a Melio plan.

Both cards add two reimbursements: as much as $100 each year on purchases made in the air, and as much as $120 every four years toward a TSA PreCheck or Global Entry application.
